Webster School work is completed early
Webster Elementary School will open Wednesday along with other schools in the Collinsville School District, three months ahead of schedule.
Workers finished renovation of a 1953 building early, and an occupancy permit was issued last week, B.W. Price of Landmark Contract Management told the School Board at a meeting Monday night.
"We still need to put some finishing touches on the gym and auditorium, but all areas essential to the students - classrooms, restrooms, cafeteria - will be ready for the first day of school," Price said.
Price credited general contractor J.J. Wuellner for the early completion of the job.
A building built in 1914 will be demolished this fall, and a new buil ding, begun in February, should be completed in October, Price said.
