Landmark Contract Management successfully orchestrated the move of Harrah’s casino barge in Metropolis, Illinois, to a new, temporary location 600 feet away. In order to minimize the time that the casino would be closed, the move had to occur at night, had to be completed within 12 hours, and had to occur no later than December 20, 2000.

Facing an aggressive construction schedule with a June 2001 completion date, extremely cold weather, and a rapidly rising Ohio River, the decision was made to proceed with the move.

Weeks of planning and meeting with numerous parties involved, the move was a total success and was accomplished in 11 ½ hours. By 12:10 p.m., Wednesday, the casino was open for "business as usual."

Harrah’s Casino in Metropolis, Illinois is a $40 million project that includes transforming an old Players Island property into a Harrah’s facility. There will be new utilities throughout, raising one of the surface parking lots, adding a new porte-cochere on land, and building a new staging barge to include restaurants and an administration area

Landmark Contract Management performs a miracle!
